School sport plays a major part in the life of all the students at Twycross. The Games department is based around team and individual sports, providing the students an abundance of opportunities to represent the school. In our ethos, we aim to balance competition and inclusivity to ensure every child has the possibility to enjoy, compete and flourish in sport. Within the lessons we strive to teach the students responsibility, resilience and leadership skills, and challenge each of them to give their all, with all they have.

We organise in an extensive array of competitive fixtures and tournaments against local state and independent schools, in addition we are a part of the ISA. Our teams and individuals regularly enjoy success locally and at county, regional and national level. Team sports include hockey, netball, boys and girls football, contact rugby, basketball, badminton, ultimate, cricket, tennis, rounders, cross country and athletics. The students represent the school in over 350 fixtures a year in these sports. Team practices take place during lunchtimes and also after school. Parents are most welcome to cheer on the school teams both at home and away fixtures and to join the staff and team for teas at home fixtures.

On site, the school has pitches for football, hockey, cricket and rugby, a cross-country course and athletics track, netball and tennis courts. The sports hall is available for basketball, gymnastics, volleyball and badminton.  There is also an Astroturf pitch and an indoor heated swimming pool.

The school is divided into three houses: Drake, Scott and Hillary. There are House competitions in all team sports including swimming and are fiercely contested. The house system is designed to include as many students as possible to play in competitive sport.
