In March we had an Author visit. Rachel Greaves came to school and spoke to us in assembly. The Fire Service

The Hollies had a visit from the Fire Service to remind us all how to keep ourselves safe in the event of a fire. We all practised how to ‘Stop, Drop, Roll’ with Fire Officer Colin.

The Leicester Space Centre came to visit the excited pupils of The Hollies bringing their amazing pop up planetarium. 4th Year Trip to Shugborough

On Friday 16th October the 4th year children went on a trip to Shugborough Hall. The visit supports our topic on The Victorians. The children looked fantastic… Continue reading 4th Year Trip to Shugborough.

As part of our Geography topic  “Where does our food come from?” the 3rd year pupils visited Tesco.  We learned a lot and tasted different kinds of food.

Farm visit

We have been finding out about where our food comes from this term. As part of this topic, we were very lucky to be invited to visit the farm of Mr and Mrs Blood. Fourth Year Visit To Shugborough Hall

Shugborough Hall provided the 4th year with a wonderful back drop for their amazing Victorian costumes! We enjoyed a great “hands  on” day experiencing Victorian life in the kitchen and school room. Both the staff at Shugborough and members of the public complimented the children on their costumes and exemplary behaviour.

Second Year Visit to Sudbury Hall

We went on a great day out to Sudbury Museum of Childhood.  The children thoroughly enjoyed playing with the toys from the past.  Many of the teachers remembered playing with these! The children found out what it was like to be a poor child long ago.  The chimney sweep’s role was quite an experience for… Continue reading Second Year Visit to Sudbury Hall.

Polesworth Abbey

We were very excited when we went to Polesworth Abbey. We had to follow a star to find the stable where Baby Jesus was in a manger. The real story of Christmas is very special!

Sudbury Hall

One of the highlights of our topic ‘Toys through the ages’ was our trip to Sudbury Hall Museum of Childhood. We enjoyed the action-packed day which was full of different activities, including a visit to a Victorian classroom and a Teddy workshop, where we were taught about the history of teddy bears and had a… Continue reading Sudbury Hall.
