4th Summer Concert

AVAST!    AHOY! Heave-ho and away the 4th years went on a fantastic journey, across the seven seas where they realised the ocean just wasn’t big enough for pirates AND mermaids!  At the “Me Hearty High School”, the most distinguished pirate school, the trainee pirates couldn’t wait to graduate and become proper, scary pirates! There… Continue reading 4th Summer Concert.

Hollies Christmas Concert 2017

How do you teach young children about the true meaning of Christmas? You make sure you have a Magical Christmas Jigsaw of course! Our Christmas show this year was an enchanting musical incorporating all the traditional nativity characters and some contemporary ones. With a fantastic array of catchy songs “The Magical Christmas Jigsaw” showed The… Continue reading Hollies Christmas Concert 2017.

Countdown to Christmas

Miss Williams did it again! Each year Miss Williams surpasses all expectations and produces a truly wonderful and memorable Christmas show. This year it was ‘Countdown to Christmas’, featuring Tick and Tock , the Fairy Clockmother, snowmen, a Greek restaurant, a Nativity and many others.  All of the children looked fabulous in their costumes, singing… Continue reading Countdown to Christmas.

Hollies Christmas Concert 2014

Another year, another Hollies production – ‘Baubles’ !  Every year the children never cease to amaze me with their hidden talents just waiting for the opportunity to shine. It is so wonderful to see their confidence build as the rehearsals progress. Baubles was about a school, not so very different to this one, with lots… Continue reading Hollies Christmas Concert 2014.

Third Year Concert

Each year a school concert takes place in the Spring term. This year it is the turn of the Third Years. The title of the concert ‘Eddie the Penguin Saves the World’ has an environmental message to us all. The children have learnt about the effects of pollution, recycling, saving our rainforests and the habitats… Continue reading Third Year Concert.

Easter Puppet Show

At the Hollies this term we were lucky to have a visit from the Coton Green Church Theatre Group. Ali the camel made us laugh and helped us to understand the real meaning of Easter.

Second Year Houses

The Easter term has been a busy one for the Second Years.  Learning our address, making graphs and maps, and building our own home have been some of the highlights of our geography topic. The topic ended with an ‘open house’ day for the rest of the school to look at and ask questions about… Continue reading Second Year Houses.

Hollies choir

It’s a hat-trick!  Once again the 4th year entered the Nuneaton and Bosworth Music Festival and won. Two contrasting pieces were expected and this they delivered: a slow, beautiful song with the introduction sung by Abigail Stacey and a 4-part jazzy number sung with energy and precision. They worked hard leading up to the competition and deserved the praise… Continue reading Hollies choir.

4th year concert

With only a 4-week half-term to work with, the 4th year managed to produce one of the best end of year concerts to date. Combined with important events of 2012 such as the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics, the children (with much deliberation!) informed their parents of their most outstanding achievements in life so far and which career paths… Continue reading 4th year concert.

Market Bosworth Festival

We were pleased that some of the children’s artwork and writing entries were on display during the Market Bosworth Festival. The schools competition was based on the theme ‘Words and Pictures’ and the children’s work was on display during the festival in June.
